Tovar selected by women legislators group to serve as state director


STATE CAPITOL, PHOENIX – Rep. Anna Tovar, D-Tolleson (District 13), has been selected by the Women Legislators’ Lobby (WiLL) to serve as state director for the nationwide network of women state legislators.

Since her election to the Arizona House of Representatives, Tovar has provided exemplary leadership on a number of issues important to her constituents and to Arizona, according to the organization. Tovar has an impressive legislative record that demonstrates a commitment to issues affecting children and senior citizens and the disadvantaged, as well as state budget and infrastructure needs.

As a WiLL state director, Tovar will work with the national non-partisan network of women legislators to influence federal legislation and budgetary policy that will positively impact Arizona.

WiLL President Sen. Nan Grogan Orrock, D-Ga., announced the state director appointment in Washington, D.C.

“WiLL recognizes the accomplishments of Rep. Tovar and will benefit greatly from her leadership and vision as a state director,” Orrock said.

Tovar, as a WiLL state director, will be working with women from all 50 states to amplify women’s voices, promote women’s leadership and support a national agenda that promotes true homeland security and prosperity.
