Hobbs named Social Worker of the Year

STATE CAPITOL, PHOENIX – Rep. Katie Hobbs, D-Phoenix (District 15), has been named Social Worker of the Year by the National Association of Social Workers.

Hobbs was selected by the association’s Arizona chapter for her commitment to fighting for vulnerable populations in Arizona.

“I am honored to receive such a prestigious award from an organization so admired for its efforts in social work,” Hobbs said. “I will continue to fight for essential services to preserve our communities.”

The association is the largest professional group of social workers in Arizona with more than 2,000 members.

The organization is dedicated to promoting the quality and effectiveness of social work practice in a state rich with diversity.

Before serving as a legislator, Hobbs was active in fighting issues like domestic violence and homelessness. Hobbs has been a professional social worker since 1992.
