Tovar attends presidential press conference on deficit reduction plan

STATE CAPITOL, PHOENIX House Minority Whip Anna Tovar attended President Obama’s press conference today in Washington, D.C. to get the facts about his plan to reduce the deficit.

A former teacher and Vice Mayor of Tolleson and a transplant survivor, Tovar said a balanced approach to get rid of government waste and closing tax loopholes is necessary to get our economy moving again.

“I was able to see first hand the facts on the deficit reduction plan and its effects on Arizona,” Tovar said. “We need less government bureaucracy by cutting the waste. At the same time, big corporations, big banks and the rich need to pay their fair share. One thing’s obvious — Congress needs to work from the facts and not from ideology.”
