Indigenous Peoples Caucus urges McCain and Flake to oppose BCRA

Today, members of the Indigenous Peoples Caucus joined 22 Indian Tribes of Arizona and submitted a letter urging Senator John McCain and Senator Jeff Flake urging them to vote against the Better Care Reconciliation Act of 2017 (BCRA). The BCRA discussion draft proposes to make $772 billion in cuts to Medicaid over the next decade. These deep cuts would have a disastrous impact on the health care of American Indians across Arizona and could lead to the possible closure of several Indian Health Service (IHS), Tribal, and urban Indian health facilities and programs.
