PHOENIX, State Capitol – Rep. Cesar Chavez, D-Phoenix (District 29) was honored with the keys to two cities: Moroleón, Guanajuato, the city in which he was born and Yuriria, Guanajuato, where he resided until he immigrated to the U.S. at the age of three.
Rep. Chavez was awarded by Mayors Jorge Ortiz and Luis Gerardo Gaviña.

“It is my utmost honor to be recognized by two cities which I hold very close to my heart," said Chavez. "Moroleón and Yuriria are a haven for humility and a reminder that my commitment to the 12 million undocumented residents in the US stands in place until we are able to provide them with a Comprehensive Immigration Reform. Thank you to the Mayors, Jorge Ortiz and Luis Gerardo Gaviña for this recognition."
