PHOENIX, State Capitol –  The International Boundary and Water Commission have re-appointed Rep. Rosanna Gabaldón to serve on the Southeast Arizona Citizens Forum Board.

Commissioner Edward Drusina of USIBWC has appointed Gabaldón, D-Sahuarita (District 2), as one of 12 members to serve on the volunteer board. She will serve a two-year term. Gabaldón has been a longtime elected official, public servant and community leader in Southeastern Arizona.

“It is an honor and privilege to be appointed to serve on the Citizens Forum Board," Gabaldón said. "This will be my third term serving on the board. My time on the board has given me an opportunity to better serve my constituents and to be involved in significant dialogue regarding the issues impacting Pima, Cochise and Santa Cruz counties, all of which are counties I proudly represent at the State Capitol."

The Citizens Forum promotes the exchange of information between the USIBWC and the community about Commission projects and related activities in Santa Cruz, Cochise and Pima counties.

The next public meeting will take place from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday, March 15 at the Pima County Water and Energy Sustainability Center, Radon Conference Room, 2955 W. Calle Agua Nueva, Tucson.

"I look forward to productive discussions about boundary and water topics that are important for Arizona’s border communities," Gabaldón said. "Arizona’s strong relationship with Mexico brings the opportunity to increase economic benefits by strengthening infrastructure and getting the community to share their ideas and thoughts."

Members of the public who would like more information about the meeting may call 520-281-1832, extension 103 or e-mail lori.kuczmanski@ibwc.gov.
