PRESS RELEASE: Women in Government Welcomes Rep. Pawlik as State Director

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

February 16, 2021

PHOENIX – Representative Jennifer Pawlik has been named as Arizona's newest State Director for Women in Government (WIG), a national non-profit, non-partisan organization of women state legislators. Together with Senator Victoria Steele, Pawlik will inform WIG on pressing policy issues in the state. Appointed by a national board of directors comprised entirely of elected state legislators, State Directors are WIG’s go-to ambassadors in the states.

"It's an honor to be recognized and lifted up by Women in Government, which leads the nation with a bold, courageous and passionate vision to empower and mobilize all women state legislators to drive sound policy," said Pawlik, D-Chandler, who became active with WIG when she was sworn in in 2019. "Working directly with other women leaders from around the country, exchanging ideas and best practices, is an excellent way to find policy solutions that work for our state."

Pawlik will replace Rep. Andrea Dalessandro of Tucson as a State Director.

For more than 30 years, WIG has provided leadership opportunities, expert forums, and educational resources to all women state legislators across the country. As a non-partisan organization, WIG aims to have party parity in all leadership positions, with up to four State Directors in each state from both houses. WIG is also committed to diversity, equity and inclusion in all forms.
