PHOENIX- Representative Myron Tsosie, Chair of the Indigenous Peoples Caucus, released the following statement on Governor Ducey signing anti-transgender bills SB1138 and SB 1165, extreme abortion ban bill SB1164, and unconstitutional voters rights bill HB2492.
"The signing of these bills is a vehement attack on human rights and do nothing to improve the lives of our communities across Arizona. These right-wing attacks don’t represent the majority of Arizonans. Instead of focusing on real issues they are attacking transgender youth, abortions, and taking away voting rights from communities of color, including our tribal nations. Meanwhile, we are facing a water crisis, a teacher shortage, and out of control rental and housing costs. We will continue to fight for the betterment of all Arizonans."
